Rabbit Sightings
When submitting a sighting to NH Rabbit Reports, we will ask you to report the following information:
- Date of the observation
- Time of the observation
- Location of the sighting (address, intersection, or GPS coordinates)
- Description of the area and habitat where you saw the rabbit – e.g. backyard, shrubs, forest, roadside, size of the area, height of vegetation, etc. Provide as much detail as possible.
- Upload a photograph. This can be done on your phone or computer. While you're able to report a sighting without uploading a photograph, attaching an image to your submission will help us potentially identify the species of rabbit. Visit Tips for Photographing Rabbits for information on how to take a photo that provides the most information possible for trying to determine the species.
- Please note that rabbit sightings must go through an administrative approval process, so they will not instantly appear on the Sightings Map. Due to staff leave in summer/fall 2022, there will be a significant delay in sightings appearing on the map during this time. Thank you in advance for your patience.
Your participation in NH Rabbit Reports by submitting sighting information to this website is completely voluntary. By submitting, you acknowledge to the best of your knowledge that all information provided is true and accurate, and provide NH Fish and Game and UNH Cooperative Extension with royalty-free, perpetual permission to reproduce, modify, adapt and publish any content (e.g. photographs).
